These were a nice surprise....I purchased one for Feng Shui purposes as the price was so good and I needed something on the smaller side. After receiving it, I went ahead and purchased 5 more to give as gifts throughout the year. They do come very tangled in the box, but I just hung it up and patiently untangled it (took 5 min or less). Perhaps if they just wrapped it in tissue paper before boxing, that might be helpful, but I will untangle the rest and wrap in tissue before I give them as gifts. The overall size they give in the description includes the string at the top....It is 14" from the top of the LOVE piece to the longest tube. I probably would not use it outdoors unless it was in a non-windy place, but maybe it wouldn't tangle....you'll have to see for yourself.
