I purchased this lamp and planter with white globes about five or six years ago and was very disappointed when it refused to light this year. It looked wonderful in the setting where I had placed it near our pool area even though it was held together with gorilla tape and had a broken piece in the lamp area. I decided to invest in this one with the bronze globes. When my husband and I worked feverishly to put it together yesterday, I thought that this newer version would be much more stable. It also had a heavier duty cord with three prongs and some re-enforcing parts used as connectors for the two top poles. The first problem we encountered was that the first tube which connected to the planter would not mount by screwing it in to the lip on the planter as the directions said it would. Secondly, we were unable to line up one of the poles to the connector. The screws which were suppose to be black were all silver except for the one connecting the lamp to the pole. Looking now for a pole bracket to stabilize the pole where the screws would not attach. Hoping that rocks and sand will stabilize it inside the planter. All in all, it is a beautiful addition to anyone's patio area--just wish for the price that all of the parts would have worked together.
